Farm First

We've been having fresh organic vegetables delivered to us on Fridays and decided to go tour the farm from where they come. We had a great tour and then picked and ate fresh asparagus and strawberries. Mmmm.

Liam's First Camping Trip

Liam's first camping trip was a big success - for the second year in a row we camped with the foodies group (Eric, Annie, Erik, Margaret, Jerry, Pamela) near the Bohemian Grove. From the moment he was first set on the blanket while the new tent (thanks Nana!) was put up.

Liam's First Baseball Game

Liam's first baseball game took place on an extremely hot day in Oakland. The seats we purchased were in the 9th row directly in the sun. Initially he was very interested in the game, but then the heat got to him and dad took him into the shade to cool off. Eventually we switched seats with some folks who had no problem moving up.

During the time Liam was upset from the heat, someone from the A's organization must have noticed, for not too long after we switched seats, a man from the A's organization handed me a card that said "Stumper" on it and said to me as he was walking away, "That's for him, not you!"

A few moments later, bam, there was Stumper, the A's mascot to welcome Liam to the game. I'd love to say that that made Liam smile, but Liam wasn't a big fan of Stumper and after giving him the fist, turned back to watch the game.

Eventually the heat and Wakefield's pitching got to him, and he fell asleep in the 8th inning.

Red Sox (Wakefield) vs A's (Anderson): "After going 7 1/3 innings without a hit, Kurt Suzuki ensured the A's wouldn't be the victims of a no-hitter with a single to left field. Making his second big league start, southpaw Brett Anderson allowed only two runs over seven innings."
