Liam fell asleep while dad walked them to Yerba Buena Gardens and it's Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Fountain & Waterfall. We had a nice afternoon with the fountains and the park and were then off to the SF MOMA. Liam began cracking up as soon as we entered the building. He really likes this art gallery. Unfortunately dad had to take a meeting before perusing the gallery, but Liam was fine falling asleep in anticipation.
A note on the Mark Rothko piece (the large orange and blue painting that Liam and I are standing in front of) -- each time Liam has seen this he has had a strong reaction -- the first time we stood close to it and his head bobbed up and down looking at the two colors and the second time he started screaming when near it. He had no reaction the third time exposed to it as shown in the photo.
We then met mom for the ferry ride home. We felt like we were suddenly on vacation, wine glasses in hand, on the bay and heading back home. Mom exclaimed her joy with a toast. Of course we then made the mistake of eating at Yoshi's in downtown Oakland. Liam had had enough for the day and it was a quick meal!
